Frequent visitors to the Traceable Heraldic Art website may have encountered some error messages during recent visits that left the site unusable, for which I apologize.
For the last three weeks, a badly-programmed scraper bot collecting content for “AI” models has gotten itself confused, and has been making an infinite series of requests to non-existent pages on the Traceable Heraldic Art website — typically it’s been averaging about thirty requests per second, but there have been some periods when it’s spiked up to double that, which is enough to overload the server and prevent people from accessing the pages I host for other projects.
When that’s happened, I’ve had to temporarily take the Traceable site offline for several hours or a day so that my other sites can remain available. At the moment, the Traceable site is back up and running normally, and I’ve taken some steps to try to limit the damage the bot can do in the future, but it’s hard to make guarantees in these circumstances.
TL;DR: Sorry about that, please try again, and remember — so-called “AI” is a parasite that relies on exploitation of the work of others.
